Collective vs. Community Gardening to Increase Local Food Supply

Time & Location

Jan 17, 2026, 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM

City Sprouts Ed Center, 4002 Seward St, Omaha, NE 68111, USA

About the Event

Join Alex O'Hanlon of Free Farm Syndicate and Shannon Kyler of City Sprouts to learn the difference between collective and community gardening and how you can get involved. Participants will leave knowing how to support existing efforts in Omaha and ways to plug into neighborhood fresh produce distributions and help build stronger local food systems. Lunch provided.

Donations are always accepted (we suggest $5 for lecture style classes and $10 for more hands on workshops with higher material costs). Donations help offset costs of materials, meals, instructor honorariums, etc. Please donate what you are comfortably able to at this time, which can include $0. More than anything, we want you to be part of our community and the conversation as we strive for food sovereignty.
